nLyze Summer Interns Page
Welcome, Nadav!
22 July, 2024
nLyze is a company which at its core is about using artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to create responsible solutions. As a cybersecurity intern at nLyze, I have been keen on learning about security principles that can be applied to our own organization. As my colleagues have been developing their projects with the help of the whole team, I have been identifying security considerations and recommendations to ensure that they can be implemented in as secure a manner as possible.
As a team, my colleagues and I have been exploring different tools in the Microsoft Security Suite. For my project, I am making extensive use of Defender in helping to secure nLyze against attacks. In doing so, I have learned how to identify risks and vulnerabilities using these tools, and how to implement security solutions to manage them. After searching for high-impact recommended actions in Defender, I made a spreadsheet of issues to prioritize. I am now researching how to remediate each issue.
I also used Copilot for Security to assess the importance of protecting against various vulnerabilities and to gain a high-level understanding of how they can be exploited. Copilot summarizes the impact of potential vulnerabilities and the risk they pose, based on their chances of happening, and can briefly describe what the risk is. I still had to do other research about the vulnerabilities as the descriptions were typically not detailed enough to gain a good understanding. This underscores that while tools are vital to success, they only form a part of what is needed to be successful – the gap is filled by learning and doing research.
Welcome, Jack!
21 June, 2024
Hello! My name is Jack, and I am currently a student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in IT Innovation with a minor in Computer Science. My primary interest lies in integrating existing technologies to develop innovative solutions for complex problems, with AI being one of the core technologies that I focus on.
Professionally, I work as a Metaverse & Emerging Technology Student Researcher at the National Counterterrorism Innovation Technology Education center (NCITE), exploring novel technology applications for national security. I am excited to work with nLyze, where I hope to both learn from their expertise and contribute with my own experience.
