In thirty years time, more has evolved about the ways we communicate and learn than at any time since Gutenberg´s Bible. Never before has information been more at hand.

However, in the same time, the world has barely changed the nature or operation of search technology. Most of our queries still fit in the same 500x50 pixel horizontal text box, as if that is a sufficient representation of our most important, meaningful, and often personal questions.

For many years, the quality of results has continued to decrease. Each passing year has reduced the value of the first page. Best-in-class search technology returns barely average answers, and too often the real answers are hidden behind advertisements and sponsored results.

Since 2022 when ChatGPT was launched, search technology has finally started to experience the rapid change it has created in countless other industries.

Once again, the technology leads and the social consequence follows: governments, organizations, schools and companies are all considering how and where artificial intelligence will replace the human worker.

Put simply, we are not built to exceed the search speed and capacity of an artificial worker.
